Best movie ever made! July 20, 2010 Larry D. Lay (Santa Fe, Texas) If this movie doesn't impact your emotions, you must be dead. Man or woman, adult or teen, of any ethnicity, this is a touching movie that is sure to bring tears. But for all the right reasons. It is about time that some producer does a re-make, again. The subject matter of this movie could easily be made modern and would be sure to touch today's movie goers as it did in the past. This was the only movie my grandmother ever saw inside a theatre. Wholesome and good while tugging at the heart strings. Romance and love are two different things in this captivating movie that you will never ever forget. I so highly recommend it, and await YOUR reviews. And STEVE in the movie is a hunk by any era's standards!
Imitation of Life July 20, 2010 aurora Can't believe this was made in the 1950s! It brilliantly explores issues of race and gender, child neglect, love and freedom to be independent. It is one of the best movies I've seen in a year.
my god these people are beautiful June 27, 2010 Beatrice A. Lafave (so falls wichita falls) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
more than a tad self conscience , odd and artificial . the black mother should have been better developed and given more depth and shading as a person (writers fault) . still a film that's better than 95 percent of today's MTV videos marketed as "film" for main stream consumption . and everyone looks so smokin' hot bein' so earnest and nasty and lovely . delightful and thought provoking soap without anti-bacterial . wonderful . rinse and repeat .
Great old movie!! April 16, 2010 P. J. Horn (BEAUMONT, TX USA) Ordered for a friend who could not find a copy of this movie. She loved it!!
